“My grandmother introduced me to Rosemary.”

A plant by the kitchen door
My grandmother grew rosemary long before anyone I knew had heard of it in a hair context. She used it for meat, and occasionally for her hair, without ceremony.
She would have found the current enthusiasm for it very funny.
What she actually taught me
Her lesson was not about rosemary. It was that care should be unremarkable enough to keep doing, a plant by the door, used when needed.
She never followed a routine in her life and had extraordinary hair at eighty.
Keeping it uncomplicated
I oil my hair on Sunday evenings. I do not track it, photograph it or optimise it.
That is closer to her practice than anything more elaborate would be.
A note on evidence
Hair responds to many things at once: sleep, nutrition, hormonal changes, scalp condition and stress among them. Published here for education only; individual concerns should be discussed with a qualified healthcare professional.
